This is a walk which takes in some of the most spectacular parts of Hadrian's Wall, and the scenery that surrounds it. Beginning and ending at Steel Rigg, we will spend some time at Housesteads Fort, walk along the Pennine Way, and visit Greenlee Lough Nature Reserve.
The highlight for many, is the chance to have a close up look at possibly the most photographed tree in the country at Sycamore Gap. This has featured in numerous TV programmes and films, and is perhaps most famous for it's appearance in the Kevin Costner movie "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves".
The walk is 9.5m/14k in length, and should take us around 4.5/5 hours to complete.
The meeting place is Steel Rigg Car Park, Grid Ref NY 751 676.
Meeting time: 09.45 for a 10.00 start.
